Misha Bharti[1][2] (born 22 May 1976) is an Indian politician from the state of Bihar and the daughter of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi[3] In June 2016, she was the party's nominee for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections and was elected unopposed along with Ram Jethmalani from Bihar.[4] She is currently serving as the Member of Parliament from Patliputra.[5]
Early life and education
Misha Bharti was born in 1976 to two former Chief Ministers of Bihar, Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi.
Lalu named his daughter Misa after the Misa Act, due to which he was in prison during the Emergency when she was born.[6] She is the eldest of her parents' nine children (7 daughters and 2 sons).[7]
Misha joined the MBBS course in MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur in 1993 on a TISCO quota, a privilege linked to her father's political influence, despite her lacking any ties to the company.
